How to get into the toughest undergraduate engineering program in the country.
Waterloo Engineering receives over 13,000 applications and only around 800 spots are available for the entering class. This makes Waterloo Engineering is one of the most competitive programs in Canada.
When you meet the 82-85% cut-off, your AIF is worth a significant part of your application. But far too many students don’t know how to properly approach it.
Depending on how it’s defined, the Waterloo Engineering acceptance rate is 5.25%-15.3% or higher.
The strength of your AIF (Admissions Information Form) and video interview play a huge role in your competitiveness. Getting clear, reliable advice from a mentor you can trust may mean the difference between an acceptance and a rejection.

With thousands of applicants applying to Waterloo Engineering every year, it can be difficult to find ways to stand out.
By working 1-on-1 with a knowledgeable Youth Coach™ who is an expert in all things Waterloo Engineering, you’ll learn how to showcase your skills and experiences and drastically increase your chances of getting in.
We DON’T write your essays for you. Instead, we coach you to elevate your life experiences and discover insights about yourself; then we teach you how to develop clear and compelling essays that perfectly encapsulate YOUR voice, YOUR unique traits, and YOUR achievements.
In our 10 years of experience, this is the best and only way to naturally stand out to the admissions committee. We’ve also seen so many Waterloo video interviews and AIFs that we know what works and what doesn’t—we’ll steer you away from unoriginal, cliché, or ‘no-no’ strategies.
Waterloo Engineering evaluates the ‘whole student’, meaning they seek students who are emotionally mature, self-aware, clear about their future, and more.
A Youth Coach™ can help build you into the best possible candidate you can be through our comprehensive coaching methodology.
"Thank you so much for everything you did to help me get into Waterloo University! I really enjoyed working with you and learning from [Youthfully] - if I could do the whole process again I would!
Thank you for all your time and efforts setting me up for success through reviewing my essays and helping me prep for the video interview. I'm thrilled that I got accepted to my first program and university of choice, Mechatronics at Waterloo with President's Scholarship, which I will be attending this September."
"[My Youth Coach] was crucial not only to my first choice, Waterloo Engineering acceptance, but also to the other programs that required supplementary applications. I definitely could not have done it without his advice and great availability."
"Thanks so much for the support on the Waterloo application and coaching on the video interview. It's been a long process and I couldn't have been accepted without you."
